India batter Virat Kohli was at his hilarious best in the game against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup 2024. The game between the two teams, which was also a Super 8 fixture of the tournament, took place at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua and Barbuda

Virat Kohli was energetic in the field and his intensity was for everyone to see. However, he came up with a hilarious moment in the field and that left many in splits. The incident took place in the 18th over of Bangladesh’s innings when Axar Patel was bowling.

Axar Patel bowled a tossed-up delivery that was full. Rishad Hossain got forward and lofted it clean. The ball went sailing over the long-on and under the desk that was outside the boundary rope. Virat Kohli, who was stationed there, went on for a search.

Virat Kohli went under the desk like a kid and as he found the ball and came back, he came up with a funny reaction. The video of the incident went viral on the internet within minutes and invited many hilarious reactions from the fans.

Virat Kohli played a decent role for the Indian team with the bat in the game against Bangladesh. Opening the batting, he looked in fine touch and seemed like he returned to form, having bagged a series of low scores in the tournament.

Virat Kohli came up with a positive mindset and went after the bowlers right from the start. He played some crisp shots in his innings and made sure that he took his team to a flying start with the bat at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua and Barbuda.

Virat Kohli played a vital hand. He ended with an innings of 37 runs off 28 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 132 and also slammed 1 four and 3 sixes in his knock, which helped India post a total of 196 runs on the board.

With the ball then, India were sensational. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets. Pacers Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah picked two wickets each while Hardik Pandya picked one scalp as India restricted 146 runs to win the game by 50 runs.

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was awarded Player of the Match for his incredible performance with the bat and ball. The vice-captain of the team scored 50 runs with the bat and then went on to pick 1 wicket as well, helping the team win the game.

Hardik Pandya admitted that India has played good cricket in the tournament. He talked about his bowling plans to the batters and added that they as a group have a lot of things to learn. He was optimistic about getting better as the tournament progressed. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:

“We have played really good cricket. More than anything we have stuck together and executed our plans. I did realise the batters wanted to use the breeze, I made sure I did not give them a chance."
