Royal Challengers Bengaluru missed a big chance, as Virat Kohli dropped a simple catch at long-off in the ongoing IPL 2025 match against the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, April 13, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Suyash Sharma bowled a full delivery on the middle, and Dhruv Jurel stepped forward to loft it down the ground. But Jurel could not time it up perfectly and ended up slicing the ball towards long-off, where Virat Kohli was perfectly positioned to take the catch without any move.

It looked like a straightforward catch, but to everyone’s surprise, Virat Kohli couldn’t hold on to it. The ball slipped out of his hands, and Jurel managed to take a single as RCB missed a golden opportunity. Kohli was clearly frustrated, as the star cricketer immediately threw the ball back in anger.

RCB fumble seven times, drop two catches against RR
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a nightmare day on the field in their IPL 2025 clash against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. The RCB fielders were guilty of seven misfields and two dropped catches, and that proved costly, as RR took their total to 173/4 on the board.
The fielders looked completely out of rhythm, and the most surprising moment came when Virat Kohli himself dropped a sitter at long-off, leaving one and all in disbelief. However, the RCB bowlers managed to restrict the RR to their second-lowest first-innings score by a team losing four or fewer wickets since the inception of the Impact Player rule in 2023.

On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that he was focused on understanding the pitch and building a strong partnership to help the Rajasthan team reach around 170. He aimed to give a solid start to the other batters and enjoyed his time at the crease. Jaiswal revealed that the pitch was a bit tricky, so the total is good.
It's a pretty good score for us: Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal said during the innings break, “It was good; I was trying to assess the conditions. I was trying to build a partnership so that we can score at least 170. I was trying to give the base to the other batsmen and was trying to get a good start for my team. I was enjoying it there. It's a pretty good score for us; the wicket is a little bit two-paced. If we bowl well, it'll be a very good game.”
In his message to the bowlers, the RR opener suggested they stay relaxed, stick to simple plans, and bowl at the stumps against the RCB. He signed off by saying, “Just enjoy the bowling, enjoy the game, and let's play together and just bowl into the stump.”
On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got a flying start as their openers, Virat Kohli (14*) and Phil Salt (23*), scored 37 runs in 3.3 overs against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Presently, RR sit on the seventh spot while RCB ranked fourth in the IPL 2025 points table.
