Sunil Gavaskar Chucked The Plate On The Wall - Ravi Shastri
By the mid of the second session, bowlers Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Akash Deep collectively bowled eight no-balls, with Sundar bowling for five of them. After the lunch break, Sundar overstepped again, prompting Ravi Shastri to humorously remark about legendary Sunil Gavaskar.
Ravi Shastri said that Gavaskar might have thrown his lunch plate against the wall. Shastri added that it was fortunate Gavaskar wasn’t fielding in the slips, noting that Sundar’s no-balls could have led to more trouble.
“Sunil Gavaskar was having lunch. He chucked the plate on the wall," Shastri said before adding, “Thank god he’s (Gavaskar) not fielding in the slip. Washington would have been close to Washington DC."
