Virat Kohli was absolutely livid with himself after being dismissed in the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium.

Asked to bat first, RCB were off to a disastrous start with in-form Phil Salt getting dismissed by Trent Boult in the very first over. However, Virat Kohli did not let Mumbai Indians make further inroads with the ball. He and Devdutt Padikkal launched a counterattack and put RCB in the driver's seat.

At the end of the powerplay, RCB were on 73/1 which is now their highest powerplay total against the Mumbai-based outfit. Their previous highest powerplay score against Mumbai Indians was 68 which they had scored way back in 2011.

After getting the start, Virat Kohli completed a fine fifty off just 29 balls. He reached his fifty in style as he hit Vignesh Puthur for a six.

Virat Kohli was looking destined to score a century before his stay at the crease was ended by his India teammate and Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya. It was the 15th over of the innings with Kohli batting on 67. He had ample time to score the remaining 33 runs and complete another IPL ton.

However, Pandya sent him back on the very first delivery of the over to give his team a much-needed breakthrough. Kohli shuffled across the off-stump and wanted to play a big shot on the leg side but ended up miscuing his shot straight to Naman Dhir at deep square leg.

The former RCB skipper departed after scoring 67 runs with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. Even though Kohli scored 67 runs, he was not at all happy with his dismissal and his reaction said it all. The cameras caught Kohli smashing his bat in anger in the dressing room.

Talking about the game, RCB were on 193/4 in the 18th over at the time of writing this report. After Kohli's departure, Liam Livingstone was dismissed for a duck by Pandya. However, captain Rajat Patidar steadied the ship for his team with a whirlwind fifty. He was batting on 62 off just 29 balls at the time of writing this report.
