Ben Duckett falls for 54 during run-chase

England got a big target of 374 runs to chase in the final innings of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, and the opening duo of Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett started off well.

It looked like England would finish Day 3 without losing a wicket, but on the fifth ball of the last over, Mohammed Siraj cleaned up Zak Crawley with a deadly yorker as the Three Lions finished with a score of 50 runs for 1 wicket.

On Day 4, Ben Duckett once again started off well, but had to face vicious sledging in the middle as Shubman Gill & Co. were constantly chirping.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is usually quite mellow, supported his teammates nicely as he got close to the English batters and passed on some comments.

Jaiswal, in particular, targeted Ben Duckett, and after he played and missed off Mohammed Siraj's bowling, he approached the Englishman and asked him to play some unorthodox shots.

The constant sledging by the Indian team worked as moments later Ben Duckett fell to Prasidh Krishna's bowling for 54 runs off 83 balls. His wicket came at a crucial juncture for the visitors as the star opening batsman possesses the ability to single-handedly take the game away from the opposition and steer his team to a win.

Here is how the conversation between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ben Duckett unfolded:

Jaiswal: This is not your game, man! Show some shots. I want to see your reverse sweep. Why are you defending?

Duckett: Later.

Jaiswal: There's no point.

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashes a wonderful century

Opener Jaiswal became the first centurion of the fifth Test between India and England as he slammed an epic 118 runs off 164 balls, with 14 fours and 2 sixes. He played a crucial role in India posting a big score in their second innings with the bat.

Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was mighty impressed with Jaiswal and showered rich praise on the youngster.

"Yashasvi Jaiswal played a brilliant innings. If I compare all the openers of India, Gavaskar is at number one. But that was a phase where Test matches were drawn, and you would weather the storm.

"Sehwag brought a change to that approach. Jaiswal is now above greatness. It is on him now to sustain this and he will. This is not an ordinary hundred. It terrorized the opposition. If he would stop and play or play steadily, maybe he would not make this hundred. He reminds me of Matthew Hayden," he stated on his YouTube channel.
