Yashasvi Jaiswal takes a stunning catch to dismiss Lahiru Udara
In the second over of the match, while Prasidh Krishna was bowling to opener Lahiru Udara in the 1.2 over, the Sri Lanka batter edged one ball, and it flew to slips as Jaiswal dived to his left and took the catch in the air. It was an amazing delivery, and a fine catch from the southpaw, adding the coffin to the delivery.

Lahiru Udara, after getting out, was furious as the batter felt there was not enough light to play the rest of the day, but the umpires continued the play, and thus the opener was dismissed on the score of 1 run off 6 deliveries, not troubling the Indian bowlers in this innings. Yet another disappointing opening stand for the Lankan Lions.

India dominates day 2
The home side came into bat after a Day 2 declaration from India on the score of 503/9, with Jurel being unbeaten on 115* and Padikkal scoring 117 runs on Day 1. It was gloomy as the Sri Lanka batters did not want to bat; however, the umpire thought that they had enough to continue. They had been reduced to 8/2 off three overs.
After the first wicket, the Sri Lanka side sent in the nightwatcher in the form of Prabath Jayasuriya, who did not have the best of times at the crease as he was also back at the pavilion on the final ball of Day 2; he was dismissed by Manav Suthar, and while he returned to the dressing room, he was fuming and threw his gloves away.
