Yuzvendra Chahal and Nicholas Pooran were involved in an intense battle before the former had the last laugh during the ongoing game between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The battle began in the tenth over of the LSG innings when Yuzvendra Chahal was introduced into the attack for the first time in the game. By then, Nicholas Pooran was well set and was batting on a run-a-ball 18.
Pooran first attacked Chahal
He decided to break the shackles by attacking Yuzvendra Chahal. The West Indies star welcomed the leg-spinner into the attack with a four on the very first delivery. The PBKS star then bowled a dot delivery before Pooran hit the following two deliveries for a four and a six.
In the 11th over, Pooran hit a four and a six against Marcus Stoinis as well. Even though Chahal had conceded 15 runs in his first over, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer did not pull him out of the attack, and it paid off.

Chahal then dismissed Pooran
On the third ball of the 12th delivery, the out-of-favour India star dismissed Pooran before he could inflict any more damage on PBKS. Chahal bowled a googly outside the off stump, and Pooran wanted to hit the ball over long-off. However, he ended up hitting the ball straight to the safe hands of Glenn Maxwell.
And as soon as Maxwell took the catch, emotions got the better of Chahal as he was seen giving Pooran an expletive-laden sendoff. Pooran departed after scoring 44 runs off 30 balls.

Talking about the game, LSG have recovered from a poor start to post a challenging total of 171/7 in 20 overs. Asked to bat first, the home side was off to a disastrous start as they lost the wickets of Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and captain Rishabh Pant inside the powerplay.
Useful knocks from Pooran, Ayush Badoni (41), and Abdul Samad (27 off 12) then helped LSG post a 170-plus total. For PBKS, Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 43 runs.
