Watch: Yuzvendra Chahal makes RJ Mahvash go crazy with second attempt catch to dismiss MS Dhoni

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal impressed his rumored girlfriend RJ Mahvash by taking a second attempt catch to dismiss the legendary Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni on Tuesday, April 8.

The 22nd match of the Indian Premier League 2025 was played between the Punjab Kings and the Chennai Super Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.

Yuzvendra Chahal bowls just one over against Chennai Super Kings

Chahal was roped in by Punjab Kings for a whopping price of INR 18 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. This made him the most expensive spinner in the history of the league.

He is yet to make a significant impact in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League and things got even poorer for him in the match against the Chennai Super Kings as his skipper Shreyas Iyer didn't trust him to contribute a lot with the ball when CSK were given a huge score of 220 runs to chase.

Yuzvendra Chahal was only introduced in the 17th over of the innings and he gave away 9 runs in that over. After that, he was not recalled to bowl.

However, Yuzvendra Chahal made his presence felt on the field in the 20th over of the innings by taking a second-attempt catch to send back the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni.

On the first ball of the 20th over, pacer Yash Thakur bowled a poor low full toss delivery down the leg to MS Dhoni with the short fine-leg inside. Dhoni didn't go for it full-blooded; he just tried to help it fine and found Chahal on the field.

The ball went straight into the hands of Chahal, who fumbled it in the first attempt but managed to hang onto the catch in the second attempt and dismiss MS Dhoni. Looking at Chahal completing a crucial catch, the PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta was delighted while Chahal's rumored girlfriend RJ Mahvash, who was in the stands, looked pumped up.

Notably, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mahvash have been spotted together several times, but neither of them has confirmed anything about their relationship. Talking about the match, PBKS restricted CSK to 201/5 to register an 18-run win.

On the road also counts but yeah you want to do well at home - Yuzvendra Chahal's teammate

Speaking ahead of the match, the PBKS left-arm pacer Marco Jansen said that they need to better their home record. He stated:

"Yeah, obviously, you want to win most of your games at home. On the road also counts, but yeah, you want to do well at home."

While talking about bowling in middle phases, Marco Jansen said that he tries to minimize the run flow. He also talked about bowling first change. Marco Jansen elaborated:

"Ideally, you want to minimise runs all the way through. I think it depends, changes game to game. Sometimes you get off to a good start and sometimes you don't. That can dictate how the innings go. We didn't get wickets early on in the last game and that might have played a big role."

"(On bowling first change)Not much really, just maybe my options or my gameplans might change. In terms of the areas I want to hit but my mentality doesn't change much."
