'We Have Chased 350 Here...'- Pakistan Batsman Sends Warning To Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli Ahead Of World Cup 2023 Clash

Dreams do come true and Imam-ul-Haq is very close to realizing it. Ahead of this year’s ICC World Cup, The Pakistan opener has revealed how he and his current captain Babar Azam dreamt of playing in India against India.

The much-awaited marquee event is scheduled to be played in India from October 5 to November 19. The ICC recently announced the schedule for World Cup 2023. In the first game of the competition, reigning champions England will take on last edition’s beaten finalist New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will open their campaign against the Qualifier team on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The much-anticipated India versus Pakistan game is scheduled to take place on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. It will be the first meeting between the two sides since the epic clash at the MCG in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Pakistan’s Imam-ul-Haq on Facing India in India:

Imam-ul-Haq is set to be a part of Pakistan’s squad for the ICC World Cup 2023. And ahead of the mega clash, he has revealed how he and Babar Azam talked about facing India in India even before they made their international debut. During a chat with Pakistan’s YouTube channel Grassroots Cricket, the left-handed batsman revealed that he had a conversation with Babar about playing in India and doing something special.

“Playing in India, especially against India and doing something special (was something) which Babar and I were discussing before 2010,” Imam revealed.

“I really believe our one-day team is the most compatible and balanced team. The combination is similar to 2019. Whenever you give opportunities to players, performances will come. We have chased 350 here (in Pakistan), we’ve scored 330 in South Africa, we won the series there. So yes, everybody is excited. A bit nervous as well, I won’t lie. This team can do wonders, and it would be good for our nation if we win the World Cup in India,” he added.

Before the clash at the World Cup, India and Pakistan are scheduled to take on each other at least once in the upcoming Asia Cup. They could play as many as three times in the competition if they manage to qualify for the final.
