West Indies and Afghanistan go head to head in match 40 of the T20 World Cup 2024. This is the last Group stage game of the T20 World Cup. Both teams have qualified for the next stage.

The Super 8 teams are confirmed ahead of the last league game of the T20 World Cup. India and USA have qualified from Group A Australia and England from Group B, West Indies and Afghanistan from Group C, and South Africa and Bangladesh from Group D. Meanwhile, this match between the West Indies and Afghanistan should be an interesting contest. The Windies are a team of big hitters. Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi have good head-to-head records against a few of their batters and all-rounders.

Rashid especially having played against the likes of Russell and Poorn in leagues around the World Cup knows very well how to bowl to them.

West Indies too have a very good attack with Akeal Hosein being their specialist spinner. Roston Chase can chip in with a few overs but it is the regular bowlers and the all-rounders who will do the job for them. Afghanistan's openers should be able to give them a good start once again. A lot depends on how good a start do they give with the bat.
