After hosting South Africa for a Test and a T20I series, West Indies are now scheduled to play Australia at home. The sides will first play a five-match T20I series between July 9-16, followed by a three-match ODI series. The T20Is will be played in St Lucia, while the ODIs will be played in Barbados. The ODI series is a part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, which acts as a qualification scenario for the 2022 World Cup.
Australia and West Indies last played an ODI game in the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England. They last played a T20I in the 2014 T20 World Cup and last played a T20I in the Caribbean way back in 2012. In the Super League standings, Aussies are placed fourth while the Windies seventh ahead of the start of the ODI series. In the ICC T20I rankings, Australia are placed fifth and West Indies moved up to eighth from 10th courtesy of their series win over South Africa.

The ODI series is a part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League which is a part of the qualification scenario for the 2023 ICC World Cup. There are 10 points for every game won while five points each for a tie, no-result and abandoned game.

As per the latest reports, the series will not be televised in India. However, Indian fans can see series via live streaming on the Fan code app.
