West Indies and Uganda go head to head in match 18 of the T20 World Cup in Guyana on Sunday, June 9 from 6 am IST which is 8.30 pm local time.

This is the second match for the two teams. West Indies managed to win off the penultimate win over PNG who were also defeated by Uganda in the last match. Papua New Guinea have lost both their respective games.

West Indies are placed alongside New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda, and PNG in Group C. The Windies along with the Kiwis and the Afghans are all perfectly capable of making it to the next round. West Indies will have tougher games to follow against those two teams. They won a T20I series against South Africa at home heading into this T20 World Cup.

However, the mercurial nature of the Windies side was on show in the very first game. It was a nervy win for the side and the batters did have their problems facing the PNG bowlers. They will have to be wary about the Ugandan side as well. West Indies can become the first host nation to win the T20 World Cup as well. They have won the tournament twice alongside England.

Uganda bowled out PNG for 77 and won the match in the 19th over. That was their very first win in the T20 World Cup and a massive moment for the count as put forward by their skipper Brian Masaba after the match.

West Indies are led by Rovman Powell in this World Cup. He has seasoned T20 players at his disposal who are fresh from an IPL season. Several players did very well in the tournament. Andre Russell won the title with KKR. On the other hand, the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell himself scored some crucial runs for his team. Even Shai Hope got to play a few matches.

So the players look very prepared and playing in home conditions, they will definitely have an advantage over other teams in the tournament. The tournament will be played from June 2 to 29. The final will be played in Barbados on June 29. Guyana will host five league matches and the second semi-final.
