"We've Played Against These Guys A Lot.."- Pat Cummins Brushes Aside 'Mohammed Shami' Threat In World Cup Final

Australia captain Pat Cummins will be eyeing history when he leads his team against India in the final of the ongoing ICC Men???s Cricket World Cup 2023. Australia are chasing a record-extending sixth World Cup title and are just one win away from achieving it.

The team from Down Under began their campaign with two losses before bouncing back with seven wins in a row to storm into the semifinals. In the semifinal, they defeated South Africa by three wickets to set up a mouth-watering clash with India who have won all of their ten games so far.

Having won their last 8 games, Australia will be hoping to win one more game to clinch the World Cup. One man who can shatter their dreams is India???s in-form fast bowler Mohammed Shami. The right-arm pacer has been in stunning form at the moment and is taking wickets for fun.

Pat Cummins on Mohammed Shami threat:

Mohammed Shami could not find a place in India???s playing eleven for the first four games of the tournament. He was finally recorded for the fifth game and has not looked back since then. In just six games, he has taken 23 wickets and is currently the leading wicket-taker in the competition. He has also picked up three five-wicket hauls including a record 7-wicket haul against New Zealand in the semifinal.

And ahead of the final, Pat Cummins has admitted that Mohammed Shami will be a big threat for Australia. At the same time, the Australia skipper made it clear that he is not too worried about the in-form pacer, saying that his teammates have faced him a lot.

???The one guy who did not play at the start of the tournament, who???s done really well is obviously Mohammed Shami,??? Pat Cummins said.

???He???s a class bowler to right and left handers, so yeah he???s going to be a big one. But again, these are guys we???ve played a lot. So all our batters can draw on moments where they have taken on these bowlers and done well,??? he added.
