The 33-year-old Bangladesh National Cricket Team opener Tamim Iqbal has become only the second Bangladesh batter to reach the 5000 Test runs milestone after Mushfiqur Rahim.
Tamim Iqbal accomplished the 5000 Test runs milestone in the first Test match of the two-match Test series against the West Indies National Cricket Team at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on Day 1 of the Test match on Thursday, June 16.

He reached the 5000-run landmark in the purest format of the game when he flicked a Kemar Roach delivery through the midwicket to take three runs.
Tamim Iqbal Achieves 5000 Test Runs Milestone In 68 Games
In the first Test against West Indies, Tamim Iqbal was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph in the 14th over and he was able to score 29 runs off 43 balls, including 4 fours.
Tamim has overall played 68 Test games for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team and he has batted in 129 innings while scoring 5010 runs at an average of 39.44 with his best score being 206. Also, he has smashed 10 centuries and 31 half-centuries in the purest format of the game.
Notably, Tamim Iqbal had the opportunity to become the first Bangladesh batter to score 5000 Test runs in the series against Sri Lanka last month in Chattogram.
Tamim was batting at 133 runs off 217 balls when suffered a cramp and had to retire hurt, which led to Mushfiqur Rahim becoming the first Bangladesh batter to achieve the 5000 Test runs milestone.
Mushfiqur has overall scored 5235 Test runs in 82 games at an average of 37.93, including 9 centuries and 25 half-centuries.
