Former India batsman Dinesh Karthik has shared his views on the possibility of Virat Kohli equaling Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 centuries in international cricket.

Virat Kohli has created and shattered numerous batting records in his illustrious career so far. The India batting superstar is one of the best if not the best all-format batsman of his generation. Very few players have managed to maintain the level of consistency that Virat Kohli has in international cricket.

So will he be able to reach the 100 centuries in international cricket? Well, Dinesh Karthik believes his former India and IPL teammate has a good chance of doing it. The former wicketkeeper shared his views on the topic while responding to a few questions from the fans. One of the fans asked whether Kohli could become the second player to score 100 centuries.

In reply, Dinesh Karthik stated that while Kohli still needs 20 centuries to achieve the incredible feat, he can do it if he manages to play for at least four years. The former cricketer-turned-commentator also said that Kohli would play in the 2027 ODI World Cup and has a great chance of hitting 100 centuries.

"He's got 80 so far. So 20 more to go, which means at least four years. He's going to play in the next World Cup I'm sure. So there is a great chance he will do it. Why not?" Dinesh Karthik said on Cricbuzz.

So far, Kohli has hit 80 centuries in 530 matches. He is only the second player after Tendulkar to reach 80 centuries in international cricket. The former India skipper achieved the incredible feat last year during the World Cup game against Sri Lanka in Mumbai. It was also his 50th ODI century as he broke Tendulkar's record of most centuries in the 50-over format. Kohli has hit 29 centuries in Tests and one in T20Is.
