Jaiswal has been India's star opener since the start of his career. The batter recently reached the 3000-run mark in his Test career, while he also scored 7 Test hundreds in his short yet decorated red-ball career.

The newly appointed Indian skipper, Shubman Gill, is known to share a stunning bond with his teammates, and fellow cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal had just dropped a verdict over the same from a recent podcast he appeared on on YouTube.

"Woh bohot hi accha hai...jolly nature ka hai" - Yashasvi Jaiswal on Shubman Gill

Jaiswal and Gill have been sharing the same dressing room for the Men in Blue for a long time. They had also featured as the opening duo for India in the shortest format of the game a few years ago.

Recently, a controversy was stirred up when Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out after a major mix-up with skipper Gill on the other end. Jaiswal was then on 175 and missed his double-century by a very short margin.

In a recent Mens XP podcast, Jaiswal said, "When I was batting, I had a cramp in my hand; it was then that Gill approached and helped me with it. That is friendship, and he is an amazing friend as well. He is a great guy; we enjoy ourselves a lot together. He is very jolly as well as sincere in times of need. He is a remarkable character to learn from."

Yashasvi Jaiswal remains India's Top-ranked Test batter

India recently dominated the West Indies with a 2-0 series win in the longest format of the game. The game was dominated by Yashasvi Jaiswal with a stupendous innings of 175 in the first innings of the Second Test in Delhi.

After his innings, the opening batter rose to the 5th position on the ICC Test Batting Rankings, just behind Australian veteran Steve Smith. He continues to be the top-ranked batter in the Indian Test side and is followed by the likes of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant on the list.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav, the left-arm spinner, also advanced to the 14th place among Test bowling rankings after his commendable performance of 12 wickets in 2 matches. Jasprit Bumrah remains the top-ranked bowler in the ICC Test Rankings.

Jaiswal hopes for a strong start to his ODI career in the upcoming Australia tour

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the top-order batter, has been left out of the T20I team ever since Abhishek Sharma was drafted into the Indian team as their opener. The veteran skipper Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, is opening the ODI innings alongside Shubman Gill, hence leaving no spot for Jaiswal.

Jaiswal, who was initially picked for the Champions Trophy earlier this year, was dropped from the side before the start of the ICC event. He has finally been drafted into the 16-member ODI squad for the tour to Australia.
