Indian Women’s Cricket Team would be aiming to register a convincing victory over Ireland in the group fixture of T20 WC 2023. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has had a topsy-turvy T20 WC 2023 where she hasn’t performed according to her potential. A win against Ireland for India would keep them in good stead ahead of the semi-final match.

The Women in Blue have been quite scratchy as they haven’t dominated. The defeat against England has raised questions over the team’s dynamics. The team doesn’t have a reliable finisher present at the back end of the innings which has been a concern for the team.

Harmanpreet Kaur Achieves A Massive Feat

Harmanpreet Kaur now has played 150 T20I matches for India. A career that started way back in 2009 has been quite terrific. New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (143 matches) & England’s Dannielle Wyatt (141 matches) are the ones behind her on the list. Harmanpreet Kaur was asked how it feels to play 150 T20I matches for the country. Notably, she is the first-ever player, male or female, in the history of cricket to play 150 T20Is.

“It (playing 150 T20I games) means a lot, I got an emotional message from my teammates. Thanks to BCCI and ICC, we are able to play so many games.” said Harmanpreet Kaur at the toss.

Great Chance for India

The Women in Blue are considered to be favourites for the T20 WC 2023. India have got a good bowling attack where the bowlers have bowled impeccable lines & lengths. BCCI would be hoping that India win the crunch moments of the match in this edition where the batters need to work on their middle-overs phase.

India would be banking on the opener Shafali Verma to give the team a rollicking start. The Women in Blue had come close to winning their maiden T20 WC 2020 championship where they lost the final against mighty Aussies and there are chances that India may play semi-final against Australia.
