"Yeh Ladke Ko Hum Nehin Dekhenge Toh...": Wasim Akram Lashes Out At PCB After Shahid Afridi's Huge Revelation On Shaheen Afridi's Rehab

Shaheen Afridi is all set to make a staggering comeback to the International Arena after missing out on Asia Cup 2022 due to a knee injury. The left-arm pacer has been named in the marquee event of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 which would be a huge boost for the Pakistan Cricket Team. The speedster is known to be the heart of the Pakistan Cricket Team & fans as his 4 overs are very much crucial in deciding the fate of the math.

Shaheen Afridi would be expected to rip the opposition team with his express pace and the angle which he creates. The pacer was seen in the UK  for a rehabilitation program and he is expected to be fit in early October. However, according to legendary Batter Shahid Afridi, the pacer has made some astonishing claims that PCB hasn’t helped him at all in these tough times.

Shahid Afridi made a shocking revelation about Pakistan Cricket Board while talking to Samaa TV.

“When I talk about Shaheen.. that guy went to England on his own. He bought his own ticket, he spent his own money to stay in a hotel. I arranged a doctor for him, then he contacted the doctor.

“PCB is not doing anything, he was doing that on his own. Everything, from coordination to doctors to his hotel room and food expenses, he is paying out of his own pocket. As far as I know, Zakir Khan (Director of Cricket for international tours at the PCB) talked to him for 1-2 times, but that was it.” said Afridi.

Wasim Akram was quite furious in his interview for the ARY news. “Yeh bohot shocking he. He is one of our top…he is box-office. Aur agar yeh ladke ko hum nehin dekhenge, aur yeh sach he, toh yeh zyati he.

“He should have straightaway been sent to the best knee surgeon in the world. But woh akela kar raha he yeh sab…as I said I’m still shocked about it,” he said.

Questionable Management from PCB

Even though, Shaheen Afridi has been around the International cricket arena since 2018; he is still quite young. We all have seen that how Pakistan wobbled at the back end of the innings in the Asia Cup 2022.

Besides, statements from Shahid Afridi & Wasim Akram are obvious as a board has to take care of a player even if he is not performing well.

Captain Babar Azam and coach Saqlain Mushtaq would be worried about such treatment of their fast bowler. The management needs to be cautious here as a player needs ample rest between series as a bowler can’t just play 4-5 series back to back. There is no room for a rest but if you want a youngster to play for a decade then the workload should be managed.
