You Should Be Ashamed Of Yourself: Danish Kaneria Lambasts Shaheen Shah Afridi After The Pacer's Horror Show In The 3rd ODI

Former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has slammed ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi following the Babar Azam-led unit’s three-wicket defeat in the final ODI against England.

Shaheen Shah Afridi had a disappointing outing in the final ODI as he gave away 78 runs in his quota of ten overs without managing a single wicket.

Taking to his official Youtube channel, Kaneria slammed Afridi, stating that the left-arm pacer should be ashamed of himself for the manner in which he was clobbered around the park by England batters, especially Phil Salt, who gave England a blistering start to their run-chase of 332. Kaneria further reckoned that Shaheen Shah Afridi is just an overrated bowler.

“Shaheen Shah Afridi. Gh**te ka ace bowler (ace bowler, my foot!). You should be ashamed of yourself the way Vince, Gregory and Salt have thrashed you. You need to improve your behavior first. You have hardly started playing for Pakistan and want to be a star.

Danish Kaneria also opened up about a heated exchange of words that took place between Shaheen Shah Afridi and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed during the recent season of the PSL.

Although Afridi apologized to Sarfaraz following the incident, Kaneria reckoned that the fast bowler’s attitude towards a senior player like Sarfaraz wasn’t right.

Sarfaraz Ahmed donned the gloves during the 3rd ODI after Mohammad Rizwan went off the field due to injury.

Kaneria believes that the rift between Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shaheen Shah Afridi is still there, and unless the latter starts respecting his seniors, he will never be successful.

“When you don’t respect your senior this is what happens,” he said. “When Sarfaraz came onto the field after Rizwan was injured, he was trying to raise Pakistan’s spirits and was trying to fire them up and fight. But Shaheen’s reaction towards Sarfaraz was so wrong that it was visible on TV. Show your attitude towards batsmen and not senior players. You will never be successful in cricket unless you respect your seniors.” added Danish Kaneria.
