Young Pakistani batter Muhammad Harris, ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, has thrown an open challenge towards the likes of world-class bowlers Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mark Wood, as he eyes a busy international calendar and cites playing in the ICC T20 World Cup next year.
Pakistan has announced a relatively younger and less experienced squad for the upcoming tri-series as well as the Asia Cup 2025. They have not only left out their senior cricketers in Babar Azam, Mohammed Rizwan, and Naseem Shah but also have heavily relied on younger players.
Mike Hesson seems more interested in players who have shown convincing form, which eventually led to the comeback of Hasan Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, and Fakhar Zaman into the team.
Muhammad Haris' open challenge to Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the Asia Cup encounter
Just before the Asia Cup is about to begin on the 9th of September, Muhammad Haris, one of the youngsters named in Pakistan's Asia Cup squad, appeared on a podcast and made some quirky remarks on the Pakistan National Cricket Team, its players, veteran Babar Azam and his own approach to the game.
Just when speaking about his approach, he mentioned that though it would be a lot of pressure on him, he would love to bat against the likes of premier fast bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah from India, Pat Cummins from Australia, and Mark Wood from England.
All three are great fast bowlers and might pose a huge threat to the batter; however, he has portrayed his fearless attitude while naming them as his desired opponents. Though others might not be anytime soon playing against him, Bumrah is likely to play the Asia Cup, and Haris would get to face the world-class pacer.

Haris opens up on Team bonding and sets Babar Azam's goal
Muhammad Haris has praised the current setup of the Pakistan national team and the current mindset of the players, which has been induced by the head coach, Mike Hesson. He has said that the team-first attitude has been incorporated in the Pakistan team as well.
"The chemistry of this team is good because there are no individual goals," said Haris. He has praised the spirit of the game and the team bonding shown among the players.
On a question about whether Babar Azam should bring a change to his batting style, he said, “Yes, Babar must change his batting style and FASTER."
Though some have cited this to be a light-hearted yet correct remark that suggests their disapproval of Babar's style of T20 batting with a low strike rate, some Babar Azam fans have been offended by the remark on their veteran and have slammed Haris for his audacity.
Babar Azam to play Exhibition Match for Flood Relief
Peshawar Zalmi have confirmed that Pakistan veteran batter Babar Azam, who is going through an unfortunate patch in international cricket, is likely to play in the Exhibition match at the Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar.
This match is a flood-relief exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and the Legends XI, which will be taking place at the Stadium on the 30th of August. Azam, who has no international commitments as of now, has agreed to star in the game.
