Former Pakistan skipper Younis Khan expressed his desire to see India batter Virat Kohli play in Pakistan and slam a ton. He also lauded the right-hander for his heroics in the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa and hailed him as a big-match player.
India batter Virat Kohli is currently the leading batter in all three formats of the game. This has been going on for more than the last decade. The right-hander is rated amongst the greats of the game and with the way he has performed, he is on the same page with them as well in terms of technique, and skills.
Virat Kohli has played in almost every part of the world and has scored truckloads of runs all around. However, one place, where he hasn't played yet is Pakistan. This is because India hasn't traveled to their neighboring nation due to the political tensions since 2008, a year when Virat Kohli made his debut.
However, there's a possibility that Virat Kohli might be playing in Pakistan. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be taking place there in February-March and if India travels, it will be a great opportunity for the fans in Pakistan to see the great man play there and perform for his team.
Younis Khan said that Virat Kohli should definitely come to Pakistan. He highlighted that when a player performs in different parts of the world, he remembers them. He also added that India batter hasn't scored a ton in Pakistan and would want to hit it before finishing his career. Speaking to News 24, he explained:
"Yes, he should definitely come. I remember when I played in Kolkata, I scored 100. I remember 100 in Mohali When I went to Australia, I played in Melbourne, gave performances, played at Lord’s, in South Africa, and at Wanderers.
"I would like Virat Kohli to come here and perform. I think he has left a feather in his career. He hasn't played in Pakistan and if he comes here, all of us will like it."
