Indian cricket has found its next teenage Yuvraj Singh. Yes, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has continued his electric form with the bat for the India Under-19 team on the England tour. In a jaw-dropping display of fearless batting, Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into the history books by smashing the fastest century ever in Youth ODIs during the fourth match against England.
The young left-handed batter overtook Pakistan’s Qasim Akram, who took 63 balls to score a hundred against Sri Lanka in February 2022 at North Sound, to become the player who smashed the fastest Youth ODI century in the ongoing fourth youth ODI at Worcester.

Suryavanshi’s record-breaking moment came in the 19th over, when he collected a single off England spinner Ralphie Albert to reach the historic milestone. He reached his half-century in just 24 balls and took only 28 more to complete his hundred, finishing in just 52 balls.
After reaching his historic century, Suryavanshi raised his arms in joy, kissed his helmet, and took a moment to enjoy the loud cheers from the crowd. The young southpaw has been a nightmare for England’s bowlers throughout the series, and the commentators were in awe of his pure carnage.
'Vaibhav Suryavanshi is like Yuvraj Singh on steroids'
During his onslaught in the fourth youth ODI, the commentator said on-air, as quoted by the Hindustan Times, “Vaibhav Suryavanshi is like Yuvraj Singh on steroids. I don't think I have seen better ball-striking than this in England. This guy is a genius.”
At first, the 14-year-old started cautiously, adjusting to the conditions in Worcester. But once the young Indian batsman settled in, he exploded with confidence, smashing the ball all across the ground and thrilling the fans.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stunning form continues in England
Vaibhav has been in outstanding form throughout the ongoing youth ODI series against England. Before his record-breaking century in the fourth match, the talented batter had already impressed with scores of 48, 45, and a solid 86 against the England Under-19 team.
Earlier this year, Vaibhav Suryavanshi turned into an overnight star after his explosive debut season in IPL 2025 with the Rajasthan Royals. He was picked at just 13 years old during the mega auction for ₹1.10 crore and became the youngest player ever to land an IPL contract.
He justified his tag in grand fashion. Suryavanshi smashed a jaw-dropping 101 off just 38 balls in a high-pressure game against the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans. Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, and Prasidh Krishna were the victims of his fearless hitting at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. With this knock, the left-hander created history by becoming the youngest centurion in T20 cricket.
