ZIM vs BAN: Frustrating To See Bangladesh Making The Same Mistakes Again And Again: Coach Russell Domingo

Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo is disappointed and frustrated to see his players making the same mistake again and again. His words arrive after Bangladesh lost the 2nd ODI to Zimbabwe in the ongoing series. With the loss, Bangladesh has also lost the three-match series with one more game to go.

Recently, Zimbabwe defeated Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the 2nd ODI at Harare Sports Club. In the match, Bangladesh managed to post a fighting total of 290-9 batting first. Later, Zimbabwe chased down the target despite facing an initial debacle of 49-4 at one stage. Middle-order batters Sikandar Raza (117*) and Regis Chakabva (102) slammed centuries to grab the victory for the team.

It’s Frustrating To See Players Making Same Mistakes Again And Again: Bangladesh Coach Russell Domingo

After Bangladesh lost the ODI series, coach Russell Domingo said that it was frustrating to see his players making the same mistakes again and again and it was an area of concern for the team.

“As a coach and as management, it’s very frustrating to see the mistakes because we seem to be making them more regularly than we should. We talked about it and we are trying to work on it but then under pressure players seems to make same mistake and that is an area of concern for us,” Domingo told reporters after the match.

“In both games they were 16 for 2 and 40 for 4 and then boys just didn’t deal with the pressure well enough. Too many soft balls, too many balls bowled to the wrong field and wrong options taken. Boys are trying but they are not learning quickly and they are making the same mistakes over and over again. It’s a disappointing thing. They are trying hard but they are just not learning from their mistakes and keep making the same mistakes over and over and good teams and good players gonna punish you under these conditions”, Russell Domingo further said.

In the 1st ODI too, Bangladesh failed with the bowling after getting initial success. Chasing 304 in the match, Zimbabwe lost 3 wickets for 62 runs. However, Innocent Kaia (110) and Sikandar Raza (135) slammed centuries to grab victory for the team by 5 wickets in the end.

Earlier, Bangladesh also lost the T20I series to Zimbabwe 2-1. Zimbabwe won the 1st T20I by 17 runs and 3rd T20I by 10 runs while Bangladesh won the 2nd T20I by 7 wickets. Now, both the teams will lock horns in the final ODI game on August 10.
