The Zimbabwe National Cricket Team will be up against the Namibia National Cricket Team and the South Africa National Cricket Team for a tri-series at the Namibia Cricket Ground. This is a historic series between the co-hosts of the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2027. Ahead of the series, South Africa and Namibia announced their squad and now the Chevrons have announced their squad.
The T20I series, which is sponsored by FNB set to take place from 28 August to 6 September 2026 in Windhoek. The Chevrons have been doing well in the shortest format of the game as they qualified for the knockout rounds of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, overpowering in the group stage, which had Australia and Sri Lanka.
Sikandar Raza to lead Zimbabwe in Tri-Series
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) announced the squad on Monday, as their regular captain Sikandar Raza is set to lead the side once again in this format. There have been a few names that are missing from the 15-man squad that have been announced, and some players return to the side after recovering from injury.
Graeme Cremer returns to the side after missing out on the home series against Bangladesh and India, citing a left-finger injury. Kundai Matigimu, the young cricketer who has played one game in the red-ball format, gets a call-up.
Richard Ngarava ruled out of Tri-Series
Pacer Richard Ngarava and Tanaka Chivanga were unavailable for the side due to respective injuries. The former is still recovering from a lower-back issue, as he played in the series against the Men in Blue, which they lost 0-3.
Ngarava has been managing the workload to get fit from the injury he suffered earlier in the year. Chivanga has undergone surgery after sustaining an Achilles tendon injury during a practice session.

Previously, ZC's Managing Director, Givemore Makoni, stated that the tri-series is crucial for their players to get good quality international matches, as he believed that playing against the likes of South Africa and Namibia will provide some competitive nature and experience to the young cricketers.
