The top two teams will face off in the grand final on July 26. Zimbabwe will open their campaign against South Africa on July 14, followed by a match against New Zealand on July 18. They will then take on South Africa again on July 20 and wrap up the group stage with a second match against New Zealand on July 24 at the Harare Sports Club.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s 16-member squad includes a mix of seasoned players and young talent. Pacer Richard Ngarava has returned after recovering from a lower-back injury, and fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani is also back to strengthen the bowling attack.
Brian Bennett set to play in the Tri-Nation T20I series
Young all-rounder Brian Bennett, who missed part of the recent Test series against South Africa due to a concussion, has been cleared to play in the upcoming Tri-Nation T20I series at home. Ryan Burl, Tony Munyonga, and Tashinga Musekiwa, who impressed in Zimbabwe’s last T20I series against Ireland in February, have retained their places in the squad.
The team also features three new faces, and they are the wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga, left-arm pacer Newman Nyamhuri, and leg-spinner Vincent Masekesa.
Tafadzwa Tsiga and Vincent Masekesa have not yet made their debut in the international arena, while Newman Nyamhuri is also in line to make his T20I debut, having already represented the country in Test and ODI cricket.
