The Indian National Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli is among the fittest athletes in the world of sports and therefore, it didn’t come as a huge surprise when the ace cricketer topped the chart of Yo-Yo score for India. But, then came the real surprise when a few youngsters surpassed the mark of a skipper with ease.

Yo-Yo tests need to be mandatorily taken and passed and are regarded as one of the criteria for selection to the Indian national side. Several players in the past, including Yuvraj Singh and Ambati Rayudu, have failed to make the cut to the Indian team due to their inability to hit the minimum score.

India has set its minimum benchmark at 16.1, while England and New Zealand have their minimum scores at 19.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have kept their minimum scores at 17.4.

Meanwhile, here, in this article, we came up with three cricketers, who surpassed Virat Kohli’s Yo-Yo score.

While there is hardly any doubt on Virat Kohli’s fitness, several reports claimed that it wasn’t the Indian captain but Manish Pandey who aced the Yo-Yo Test with a score of 19.2 followed by the 19 of Virat Kohli.

However, this won’t come as a surprise, as Manish Pandey always look fit in the middle during International Matches.

As per a report in PTI, Pandey had scaled Kohli’s yo-yo test score in 2017. He touched the 19.2 marks while Kohli recorded a score of 19.

During the same period, Yuvraj Singh had failed to clear the yo-yo test and hence, he could not make a comeback in the national team.

In one of the Yo-Yo Tests, as per reports, Kohli had reached a score of 19 and Manish Pandey secured 19.2. Dagar managed to race past them and reach a score of 19.3. Though he isn’t on the playing XI, Dagar plays for Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket.

The left-arm spinner is a regular member of the Himachal Pradesh state team and has also been part of IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). He is also a former India U-19 spinner.

Not many know that Dagar is the nephew of the unimitable stroke-maker Virender Sehwag. Although not a batsman like his uncle, Dagar does have a strong head on his shoulders.

Talented batsman Karun Nair, who is the only other triple centurion other than Virender Sehwag for India in Tests, recently said in an interview with Cricbuzz that as per Team India’s Ex-trainer Shanker Basu, it is not Virat Kohli but he himself is the fittest among the lot.

After returning from the tour of England, Nair said that he spent the most time with the trainer, which saw his fitness level go up.

However, the official score was never revealed by Karun Nair or the trainer.

Surprisingly, Karun Nair has fallen apart and found it tough to make a comeback into the Indian team.
