Australian white-ball captain, Aaron Finch, has become the first player in the history of the Indian Premier League to feature for as many as 8 franchises.
Finch is making his debut for the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the sides’ opening game of the 13th season against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday.
The Australian captain made his IP debut in the 2010 season, where he represented the inaugural champions, Rajasthan Royals. He then moved to the erstwhile Delhi Daredevils whom he represented for two seasons in 2011 and 2012.
The now-defunct Pune Warriors snapped him up next, whom he also captained and spearheaded with the bat. Following their disbandment, Finch entered the IPL auctions once again and this time he was racked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad before the Australian swashbuckler moved to the Mumbai Indians in 2015.
Gujarat Lions picked Finch for the 2016 season. However, following the exit of the franchise, Finch once again found himself in the auction pool ahead of the 2018 edition. The right-hander was picked by Kings XI Punjab in the mega auctions.
Finch represented KXIP in 2018 before he opted out of the 2019 edition in order to prepare himself for the 50-over World Cup. In the last IPL auctions, Finch was picked by the Virat Kohl-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.
