Things are not falling in place between Cricket Australia and the BCCI at the moment. Recently,  disagreement between the BCCI and Cricket Australia played a big role in Australian women cricketers missing out on the chance to play in the thee-team women’s T20 challenge in India. However, the recent tension seem to have not affected the camaraderie between the male cricketers of the two nations. A number of Australian players are currently playing in the ongoing Indian Premier League. And now Australia captain Aaron Finch has revealed a heartwarming gift from India star MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

Australia were in India last month for two T20Is and five ODIs. And contrary to popular speculations, it was Australia who won both the series. Their performance in the ODIs was lauded by the entire cricketing fraternity. Having now won a series since the 2016-17, they arrived in India as the underdogs. The series started on an expected note as India won the first two ODIs. However, Australia bounced back in style to win the last three ODIs and win the series 3-2.

It was Aaron Finch’s first series win as ODI captain. India, on the other hand, suffered a confidence-shattering loss just before the World Cup. But despite the loss, India stars Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni showed why cricket is known as gentlemen’s game. Keeping the setback of the series loss aside, the two gifted their jerseys to Aaron Finch.

Finch himself took to Instagram on Sunday to post a picture alongside the two jerseys, writing:

“Thank you @virat.kohli & @mahi7781.”

“Very lucky to have been given a shirt by both guys during the last series we played against India. Whilst we battle it out hard for our countries on the field, the respect I have for 2 of the games all time greats is huge! It’s important to take some time to be grateful and appreciate the opportunities we have been given!,” he added.
