South Africa Vs India: AB de Villiers was taken by surprise by visitors’ pacers in Centurion

Known for his mantra with the batting and seen as a complete package, South African star batsman AB de Villiers revealed his side was surprised to witness the pace bowling attack on a slow surface at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
“India have really impressed me. They have surprised us in terms of pace bowling,” de Villiers was quoted as saying by PTI.
While hailing the efforts of India fast bowling attack while adding they have shown the consistency and bowled with much pace on the surface.

“They have showed a lot more skill and definitely there is a lot more pace than we expected,” de Villiers maintained.
The 33-year-old Pretoria-based right-handed batsman de Villiers is back to his business owing to his willow prowess and has further cherished his return.
“It feels like my debut back in 2004 when I started as an opening batsman, then a keeper at no.7 and back to the opening, and up and down,” de Villiers added.

Out of four innings in the ongoing series, de Villiers registered 200 runs which saw him expressing the satisfaction with the way his body is copping up.
De Villiers has further praised the team efforts while reflecting it as the all-round show.
“I am obviously enjoying my cricket and loving it out there with the boys. It has been a great couple of Test matches. It was just an all-round good team performance,” de Villiers asserted.
After the little-over one-year hiatus due to his back problem which further saw returning to the whites while featuring in the historic four-day Test against Zimbabwe in his backyard.
On Wednesday (January 17) the hosts under the leadership of Faf du Plessis has claimed the ongoing three-match Sunfoil Test series 2-0 in Centurion by 135 runs with the final Test to be held at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday (January 24).
The prominent face of the Proteas line-up de Villiers has been equally good on the field after playing the pivotal role in the fast two Tests which saw the hosts had taken an unassailable 2-0 lead.
De Villiers, who was speaking at the event of the Pink ODI which is scheduled to be held on February 10 against Men in Blue reflected on the five-day format.
“Test cricket is the ultimate challenge. It was very enjoyable to be part of a really important and good series win. I think it was a great team effort,” de Villiers further added.
On the fifth day during the extended morning session, de Villiers claimed a spectacular catch of Rohit Sharma and had further credited Indian bowlers to contain hosts from time-to-time.
