AB de Villiers, the former South African superstar, who retired from international cricket recently, is likely to be a part of UAE based T20 League.

Meanwhile, the Emirates Cricket Board has launched its own T20 league starting from December 19. Moreover, they have named it as UAE T20X as they released the logo of the competition recently.

De Villiers during his announcement admitted that he will continue playing the game in different leagues. However, he is currently enjoying some time away from the game with his family.

He is also upbeat about playing the Indian Premier League for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. De Villiers will also be available for his domestic team Titans and is looking forward to mentor the youngsters.

Official announcement not done yet

The Twitter handle of the UAE T20X revealed the news in a perplexed manner sharing some statistics of the legendary cricketer.

We’re bringing you closer to one of cricket’s biggest stars REAL SOON He’s the record holder for the fastest 50, 100, and 150 in ODIs. Can you guess who he is?” the tweet read.

Since the post, the excitement has reached its peak. Meanwhile, the official announcement is likely to be made soon.

The inaugural edition of the UAE T20 league will commence December 19 and will be played until January 11. A total of 24 matches will take place in  Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. According to ECB, the new tournament aims to be the most innovative T20 competition in the world.

Each of the five teams will consist of 16 players in the squad including six international star players, two emerging players from ICC full member countries, three from ICC associate members, two juniors and three UAE cricketers.
