Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers, on Friday, revealed his favourite knock against India while interacting with his IPL teammate Virat Kohli on Instagram. AB de Villiers, who retired from international cricket in 2018, has had a good record against India.
In Tests, he scored 1,334 runs in 20 games with the help of three centuries and six fifties. In ODIs, the legendary batsman has smashed 1,351 runs in 32 games at an average of nearly 50 and a strike-rate of more than 111. He scored 6 fifties and 5 fifties against the Men in Blue in the 50-over format.
It was Virat Kohli who asked AB de Villiers to name his favourite knock against India. And even before the South African could answer the question, Kohli himself said that it must be the one that he played during the Wankhede ODI in 2015. Well, AB de Villiers agreed to it and called the knock one of his best ODI knocks of his career.

“Yeah, that was one of the best ODI knocks of my life. It was 2 all in the series, it was a good series. And we always wanted to win a series in India. I was very motivated,” said AB de Villiers.
“We were very disappointed (after the World Cup). I was incredibly motivated to do something special. I’ve always loved going to India, playing cricket there. We had some youngsters in the team as well that I felt I needed to inspire as a leader. We had a very strong senior group.
“The odds were against us. Batting first at the Wankhede, it was a great wicket. If we didn’t get 400-plus, if we got 350, you guys would have got it. We just batted well,” he added.
