South Africa’s former talisman batsman AB de Villiers has revealed his World Cup plans. The former linchpin batsman had surprisingly called it a day from the game in May 2018. However, there were rumours in the recent past that AB de Villiers is contemplating a return to South Africa’s team for the World Cup event.

But de Villiers made it clear that his decision to hang his boots if final and he is happy with his retirement decision. Thus, he is not going to return to International cricket. Meanwhile, AB de Villiers is going to play in the different leagues across the globe.

AB de Villiers is not going to come back.

“I feel I’ve made the right decision to retire. If they do approach me – and I don’t think that will happen – we’ll have a conversation and I’m pretty sure that I will be staying over here and supporting the team,” AB de Villiers said while talking to BBC World Service Stumped.

AB de Villiers had sent shocking waves in the cricketing world when he claimed that he too tired to continue playing at the topmost level. On the other hand, AB de Villiers has no issues with the newly proposed 100-ball format. The former Proteas skipper believes there is nothing wrong in trying something new.

“I can’t see anything wrong with trying something different,” said De Villiers.

“I’m not set in my schedule at the moment but I would love to play in the UK.

“I’m sure with the tradition and the culture of cricket over there, it would be very well supported. I would love to be a part of it.”

Furthermore, AB de Villiers has agreed to play two Pakistan Super League matches in Lahore, which will take place on March 9 and 10. De Villiers will play a match in Pakistan after a gap of 11 years.

“I felt that I had this opportunity to maybe make an impact to help international cricket return to Pakistan.

“I was reluctant to go a few years back when we were all a bit worried, but I feel the time is right to go back there.

“I’m hoping to go there and have some fun and show the whole world that Pakistan is safe to travel to again.”

AB de Villiers had a decorated career while playing for South Africa. He was a livewire on the field and always played the game in the right spirit. In fact, de Villiers will go down as a modern great as he achieved great success during his career.
