AB de Villiers Spills Beans Behind Proposal to His Better Half at Taj Mahal

South African cricketer, AB de Villiers revealed the idea of proposing to his wife Danielle for marriage at the historic monument Taj Mahal.

Meanwhile, de Villiers is having an outstanding time on the field for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Last night (May 17), he chipped in with a crucial 69 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

A timely partnership between AB de Villiers (69) and Moeen Ali (65) ensured they don’t fall back. The pair added 107 runs from 57 balls as they guided RCB to a massive 218 runs.

Hyderabad, in reply, got off to a good start, however, lost two wickets in successions. The score was 64 for two after eight overs when Moeen Ali dismissed Hales thanks to a brilliant flying catch by De Villiers at deep mid-wicket.

Moreover, Mohammad Siraj brilliant last over helped RCB bag two points as Hyderabad fell short of just 14 runs.

De Villiers reveals the story:

Talking about the memorable incident, de Villiers revealed that he had to lie to wife Danielle. Moreover, he asked photographers and videographers to follow them as security guards to the mausoleum.

About a couple of months leading up to the IPL, I was obviously planning, got the ring and all that, and I decided to do it there. And once I got to the IPL, I got “security guards”, who were actually photographing and videographers to film the whole thing,” de Villiers said in an interaction on web series What the Duck.

De Villiers, who is known for his acrobacy on the field furthe reiterated how he faked about a security personnels.

But I told Danielle that I have to travel with security guards, so that’s why they got to go with us. And it ended up to be a great surprise and I got it all on camera,” he added.

The Proteas batsman tied the knot in 2013 and welcomed their second child last year (2017).

In conclusion, the Mr. 360 degree AB de Villiers admitted that he surprised his wife completely and feels he couldn’t have anything more than that.

Meanwhile, RCB will have to win their last league game to stay in contention.

Virat Kohli-led side will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) next at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 19.
