Abhimanyu Mithun Picks 5 Wickets In One Over In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Semifinal - Watch

Veteran fast bowler Abhimanyu Mithun once again excelled in domestic cricket claiming five wickets in one over in the semifinals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Haryana. Meanwhile, Karnataka managed to restrict Haryana for 194 for eight in their quota of 20 overs at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium in Surat.
The fast bowler from Karnataka, who has represented India in four Tests and five ODIs has been a legend in domestic cricket. He once again came to his usual best in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy claiming five wickets including a hat-trick in the 20th over of the semifinal match against Haryana. He became the first cricketer to scalp a hat-trick in the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The Amit Mishra-led side was slated for a total over 200, but a last over brilliance from Abhimanyu Mithun helped Karnataka to restrict them within 200.

Mithun didn’t have a great game as he went for plenty in the first three overs before coming to his element in the final over of the innings. He claimed four wickets in the first four deliveries of the over before bowling a wide delivery and then gave a single before scalping his fifth wicket of the last ball to finish with five for 39 in his full quota. His tally of wickets included Himanshu Rana, Rahul Tewatia, Sumit Kumar, Amit Mishra, and Jayant Yadav.
Previously, Chaitanya Bishnoi and Harshal Patel provided Haryana with a perfect start adding 67 runs for the first wickets in 6.4 overs. While it looked like Haryana lost the plot after losing a few wickets, but Himanshu Rana and Rahul Tewatia scored quick runs to bring them back in track before Abhimanyu Mithun rose to prominence to restrict them for 194 runs.
