The right-handed batsman Abid Ali turned out to be an exceptional performer for Pakistan in ODI and Test format of the game. After scoring a century in his debut ODI game, he marked his Test debut with an unbeaten century to become the only male cricketer in the world cricket to score a century on debut in Test and ODI formats of the game.

After a rain-curtailed game, the right-handed batsman Abid Ali scored a stunning 109-run knock in 201 balls that laced with 14 fours. He remained unbeaten at the end of the day to stitch an unbeaten 162-run partnership with Babar Azam. The vice-captain Babar Azam also scored an unbeaten 102* alongside the debutant.

Abid Ali scored a brilliant 112-run knock in his ODI debut against Australia as well. By doing so, Abid became the first batsman in International cricket to score a century on debut in Test and ODI format of the game.  Former England women’s player Enid Bakewell, who played 12 Tests between 1968 and 1979 was the first cricketer (male/female) to start both her ODI and Test careers with a century.
