Aussie leg-spinner Adam Zampa who has been an impressive performer for Australia in the limited-overs format raised questions after he was left out of the 2nd T20I encounter against England.

He wasn’t really happy with the decision and questioned whether the Australian selectors are behind the other countries when it comes to T20I selections.

Zampa bagged figures of 1/21 in the series opener against the Kiwis in Sydney. Despite his impressive spell, the leggie wasn’t recalled for Saturday’s clash at the MCG. He also missed out earlier when the two times had met in Hobart.

In his brief and limited-career so far he boasts of sensational stats when it comes to green and gold. With an average of 15 and economy rate of less than he will surely rank among the top five bowlers of all time in T20 cricket.

Speaking to reporters, the young leg spinners said,

“That’s one of the questions that I asked (selectors) the other night. A lot of countries around the world are opting for two wrist-spinners, let alone no wrist-spinners. It’s just the grounds and the situations we’ve got ourselves in probably that make it a little bit different in Australia. I think wrist spin is definitely the way forward in particular and even two or three spinners in a team,” he added.

The tweaker is eager to secure his place in the T20I squad in a mission to improve their T20 rankings in the shortest format ahead of the World Twenty20 scheduled to be held in Australia in two years time. Despite his exceptional returns for Australia in the T20I formats, the leggie went unsold in the IPL Auctions much to everyone’s surprise.

Meanwhile, it must be noted here that he has signed a deal with Essex for the upcoming T20 Blast tournament and will try to use it as the launching pad to consolidate his place in the Australian side ahead of the World Twenty20 in a couple of years time.
