On Friday, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced the squad for the upcoming series against West Indies. The series will be hosted by India, which offered the venue for Afghanistan to help their board financially. The series will start on November 5th with the first T20I to be played at Dehradun.

ACB has named Rashid Khan as the skipper with old heads like Mohammad Nabi and Asghar Afghan also in the ranks. And also, Afghanistan included new faces like Fareed Ahmed Malik in their T20I squad with Ikram Ali Khil also being picked for the ODI team.
5 players dropped from T20I squad:
It seems like the board has moved on from Mohammad Shahzad, who used to be their star performer over the years. The likes of Zazai, Rahmat Shah finds a place while Javed Ahmadi and Afsar Zazai also finds a place in the side. Despite the differences, Gulbadin Naib continued in the team.
Rashid Khan will not lead the team but also will take care of the bowling department alongside Mujeeb ur Rahman. The classy Mohammad Nabi also finds a place while Najibullah Zadran is the other notable name in the squad.
What came as a surprise was the exclusion of key players from T20I squad. As many as five players — Shafiqullah Shafiq, Dawlat Zadran, Shahidullah Kamal, Fazal Niazai and Najeeb Tarakai — have been dropped from the T20I squad that played in the Bangladesh T20I Tri-series in September.

The series against West Indies will begin with three ODIs, which will be played on November 6, 9 and 11 followed by three T20Is on November 14, 16 and 17th. And also, a one-off Test, beginning November 27.
