The cricketing fraternity has showered praises on Australian pace bowler Mitchell Starc after he chose to cheer his wife Alyssa Healy in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020.

The left-arm speedster Star has put his better-half ahead of his own team as Starc is currently in South Africa for the limited-overs series. And, as the New South Wales bowler prepares to come back home to cheer his wife, a Tweet hilariously reveals the real reason for his early return to which Alyssa also responded.

The final between India women and Australia women is all set to take place at the MCG on Sunday. However, Starc would miss the third ODI between South Africa and Australia on Saturday in Potchefstroom which is a dead rubber as the tourists are 0-2 down in the three-match series.

Besides, Starc’s gesture to cheer his wife received backing from Cricket Australia (CA) as well as head coach Justin Langer.

Starc’s decision to be at the MCG has not only the cricketers but also the social media go bonkers. All in all, many have had praised his decision while few didn’t find it pleasing.

However, the one Tweet that captured everybody’s attention was below which even Healy couldn’t ignore.

As far as Healy’s onfield performance is concerned, she mustered a half-century against India in the tournament opener. She is the second-highest run-getter in the competition for Australia with 161 runs at a strike rate of 144.

Moreover, Starc has played an instrumental role in Australia’s victory in the T20I series over the Proteas.

The left-arm pacer claimed the wicket of skipper Quinton de Kock three times across formats on their home soil. The men in yellow would face the Kiwis next in Australia in a three-match ODI series.
