Ambati Raydu has submitted his reply to BCCI after he was sent a notice by the board, seeking a response from the Hyderabad captain regarding the controversy which unearthed during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game between Hyderabad and Karnataka, as per a report in ANI.

During the first innings of the game, the on-field umpires had mistakenly awarded just two runs to Karnataka for a boundary, which they failed to notice. The two runs were added to Karnataka’s total during the innings break. In the end, the difference between the scores of both the teams was also two runs, which was the main cause of the trouble.

After the end of the game, Hyderabad team had come out to play the Super Over as they thought that the match had ended in a tie.

It is still not sure whether the Hyderabad team was in known of things and whether they were delivered the revised target.

BCCI asked for a report from the match referee, by which the board asked Rayudu to submit his reply. Along with Rayudu, team manager, Krishna Rao was also asked to submit his response.

Rayudu has submitted his reply in which he would have surely mentioned that he had no idea regarding the revised target; the reason why he was out with his teammates doing warm up before the Super Over, as he said after the game.

The incident would not have received much limelight had the second game of the day was not affected by it. As a result of the talks between Rayudu and officials, the second game of the day, which was to be played at the same venue, got delayed by more than an hour before being reduced to 13 overs per side.

The point of view of both Andhra Pradesh and Kerala will also come into play during the hearing as reducing the number of overs was at all a solution. The game could have been delayed by a day or so to give full opportunity to the players.

BCCI will soon announce the final verdict on Ambati Rayudu and the team manager.
