Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir has played under various skippers for India. Speaking of the same, Gambhir quoted there were many skippers, who had done well for India but he feels Anil Kumble was the best among all. Moreover, he stressed the difference between the captain and a leader.

When asked about the captaincy, Gambhir revealed IPL made him a better leader. Besides that, he spoke regarding Anil Kumble, who led the team to perfection during his short stint as the skipper.

”IPL taught me how to be a leader. I have played under a lot of captains but I have played under very few leaders. One of those was Anil Kumble. He was the best captain that I had for a very long time,” Gautam Gambhir quoted.

”He didn’t captain India for a very long time, whatever little I played under his captaincy I knew that India missed out on a leader who could have taken India to a different level. He taught me things how to become a leader and a perfect role model for me,” Gambhir added.

Well, as Gambhir said, Anil Kumble is one of the underrated Indian skippers of all time. Alongside his short captaincy stint, Kumble also received accolades for his head coach role for the Men in Blue in the past.
