Delhi Capitals have earned two victories in two games with their latest one coming against Chennai Super Kings as Anrich Nortje performed substantially well. Delhi Capitals began their campaign with a win in the super over against Kings XI Punjab followed by beating the three-time champions CSK by 44 runs. Anrich Nortje, who has brought in a new dimension in their pace attack, has hailed the balance of the team.

Anrich Nortje shared the new ball in both the matches and discomforted the batsmen in the early overs. He conceded 33 runs in four overs against Kings XI Punjab without a victim; however, returned with two wickets and leaked only 21 runs. The South African seamer came into the side as a replacement for England’s Chris Woakes and is fair to say the franchise has made the correct choice.

According to Anrich Nortje, the atmosphere has been lively from the start, having excellent team spirit, and sharing banter amongst them. The 26-year old added that his side knows when to relax on the field and boasts of the right balance.

Like I said at the start, it’s been a good team spirit, good banter, positive getting along. Boys are nice and relaxed, so that’s really good. Even in the game, we know when to step it up and know when to relax, so it’s a good balance that the team has at the moment,” Nortje stated as quoted by News18.

The right-arm speedster felt delighted to bounce back with a couple of scalps against CSK after ending the first match with none. Nortje revealed to feel keen from the get-go to give his best and is thankful that it paid off. The new-ball bowler stated he was only trying to do his job.

It’s just unbelievable. It’s great to get a wicket finally, I mean after not getting one in the first game. I felt like to come in and run in today, just give it my best, control what I generally do and I think at the end it paid off. So, I was just trying to do my thing at the end,” he added.
