Anrich Nortje has been surging from strength to strength as the IPL 2020 is progressing, making his way as a potent seamer. Anrich Norje enjoyed a brilliant night against the Rajasthan Royals as he bowled rockets and delivered a 14-run victory for the Delhi Capitals. The 26-year old claimed to have not realized clocking the 150-mark speed.

In his first over, Jos Buttler took him to the cleaners, greeting him with a six and going on to play two ramp shots for a boundary. However, Anrich Nortje came back to rearrange the Englishman’s stumps that was delivered at 155.5. The Proteas speedster perfectly avenged himself for all the beating he endured. Nortje and Rabada have formed one of the best new-ball bowling attacks in the tournament.

Anrich Nortje returned at the death to deliver another tidy over with a wicket. On this occasion, he went on to castle Robin Uthappa with a perfect yorker. Rajasthan Royals, who had the game in their grasp for the most part of the innings, lost in the final 4-5 overs when Rabada and Nortje were in the mix. The duo gave away hardly any runs and at the same picked up wickets.

Anrich Nortje, who has ten wickets from eight games and finished with a spell of 4-0-33-2, mentioned that he did not realize he delivered at such speeds, acknowledging it is good to have results up at his sleeves. Speaking of his duel with Jos Buttler, the South African stated that he tried to bowl at the stumps and stuck to his strengths. He also lauded Ricky Ponting, who works equally well with everyone.

No idea I bowled at 156ks tonight but good to hear it. Been feeling really good so it is nice to see some results. Jis played them really well. Ja I thought I was a touch full. The first ball I didn’t expect him to go. Ja I thought it was best to stick to my strength: trying to hit the stumps and bowl fast. Maybe he was expecting something else, a short ball or something. We have got a good coach, and obviously working with KG and other fast bowlers. Tushar has been nailing the yorkers in the nets,” he added.
