Rohit Sharma, on Wednesday, further enhanced his reputation as the best opener in the world by powering India to a thrilling win over New Zealand in the third T20I. The right-handed batsman starred with the bat as India beat New Zealand through the super over to win their first-ever T20I series in New Zealand.

At one stage it looked like New Zealand would win the game while chasing 180 thanks to a sensational knock of 95 from their captain Kane Williamson. However, the Black Caps once again wilted under pressure as they failed to score one run from the final ball.

They had the chance to win the game in super over too when Williamson and Martin Guptill helped them score 17 runs. Tim Southee started well with the ball after being given the responsibility to defend the total in super over. He conceded just eight runs from the first four balls.

With ten runs needed off the final two balls, the match was drifting away from India before Rohit Sharma decided to take the matters in his own hands. The Mumbai star slammed two huge sixes on the final two balls to break New Zealand’s hearts and seal a memorable win for the Men in Blue.
