Arshdeep Singh, the rising left-arm pacer, is considered to be the next big thing in World Cricket. Arshdeep Singh had a pretty decent T20 WC 2022 where he took 10 wickets and bowled impeccable lines & lengths. There have been talks going on that Arshdeep may be considered for the Test format as well.

With a lot of ICC events scheduled in the next couple of years, BCCI must manage his workload as the pacer has got good control over his line & length. The upcoming IPL 2023 would be quite pivotal for Arshdeep Singh as BCCI has brought back home & away venues where the bowlers would be tested.

Kent’s Director of Cricket Paul Downton on Arshdeep Singh stint

Paul Downton was quite delighted to have Arshdeep Singh for 5 County Championship games in June & July.

“We’re delighted to have a player of Arshdeep’s potential join us for five matches this Summer. He has demonstrated that he has world class skills with the white ball, and I am very confident he will be able to put those skills to good use with the red ball in the County Championship.” said Paul Downton.

Arshdeep Singh on County Championship debut with Kent

Arshdeep Singh was asked about his first County stint where the pacer was thrilled.
“I am excited to play red-ball cricket in England and continue to improve my skills in the first-class game. I look forward to performing in front of Kent’s Members and supporters; Rahul Dravid has already told me it is a Club with a great history.” said Arshdeep Singh.
India don’t have many quality left-arm pacers in their setup. It won’t be wrong to say that  India have not found a replacement for the legendary pacer Zaheer Khan. It would be interesting to see how Arshdeep Singh fares as playing red ball in England is considered to be quite tough.
