Ashwin Posts a Sarcastic Message on Twitter as Smith Once Again Looks Good to Score Big

Steven Smith has gained career-best rating after his historic 239 in the Perth Test against England.

The host Australia dominated the first day of the fourth Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) with opener David Warner scoring a magnificent hundred well cushioned by Steve Smith, who is once again looking good to notch up a big score. Australia posted 224 runs for the loss of three wickets at the end of the day’s play with Aussie skipper Steve Smith unbeaten on 65 runs.

Australian opener David Warner was in outstanding touch on the Boxing Day as he notched up 21st Test hundred with the help of 13 fours and a lone six. Warner dominated the English bowling right from the start; however was departed soon after reaching his hundred edging one to Jonny Bairstow off veteran James Anderson.

On the other hand, Smith continued his form from the last match as his never-ending urge to bat continues. Smith played a patient knock of unbeaten 65 runs with the help of 6 fours and was in good flow as he was timing the beautifully.

Social media platform Twitter went mad as Australia continued to dominate the Magellan Ashes after a brilliant display of batting on the first day at MCG.

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran also took to Twitter to shower heaps of praise on the Aussie skipper Smith sarcastically.

He wrote:

“One day teams will need to talk to Steve Smith prior to a test match and settle down on a number that both parties agree upon. Insane Stuff #Ashes.”

Australia has already regained the Ashes Urn beating the visitors England 3-0 convincingly; however, ahead of the Boxing Day Test, Australian captain Steve Smith issued warning that his team will look for a clean sweep.
