Out of the seniors, Bangladesh recalled 23-year old Liton Das, who bagged the opening berth. Furthermore, after his fantastic performance in the Twenty20 decider against Windies, Das thus made it to the squad.

After facing a 10-month hiatus from the One-day International side, the 25-year-old Soumya Sarkar got a recall as well.

Moreover, due to a blistering knock of 182 off 133 against Ireland, Mominul Haque became the part of the squad after his three-year absence subsequently.

Mohammad Ashraful will miss the mega event:

In contrast, Mohammad Ashraful could not make into the squad. But his five-year ban is terminating on 13 August following the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) spot-fixing scandal.

Due to the lack of preparations, it seems that Ashraful is all set to miss the event subsequently.
