Despite not being part of the playing XI, India’s Manish Pandey made his presence felt during Asia Cup 2018 match against Pakistan in Dubai on Wednesday.

However, Pandey took a stunner on the boundary line and then balanced himself perfectly to finish the catch in the 2nd attempt eventually. Meanwhile, his brilliant catch helped India get rid-off Pakistan captain, Sarfraz Ahmed at an early score.

However, Kedar Jadhav was introduced into the attack by Rohit Sharma after Hardik Pandya sustained an injury and was stretchered off the field.

To complete his overs, Kedar Jadhav got introduced and knowing he is no mug with the ball and had shown earlier that he was a wicket-taker, he dismissed the big fish, Sarfraz.

In a bid to release some of the pressure, Pakistan skipper, Sarfraz Ahmed went for a big hit, and Pandey, who was fielding in place of Pandya at the deep mid-on area, caught it. However, there is no doubt about the fact that he is one of the best fielders in the national team and was eager to make an impact in the game despite being warming the benches.

Meanwhile, Pakistan was never threatening enough to take the game away from the Men in Blue and kept losing wickets on regular intervals. Kedar Jadhav was quite superb in the middle-overs and finished with figures of 3/23 in his nine-over spell. The pick of the Indian bowlers was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who provided the first two breakthroughs for India. He finished with 3/15, as Pakistan were bowled out for a paltry score of 162 runs.

Later in the day, India made light work of the run chase and achieved the target with more than 21 overs to spare. Captain Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant half-century to get India off to a great start. Eventually, it was Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu who took India over the finishing line in Asia Cup 2018.
