The veteran India spinner Harbhajan Singh has stated India is the firm contenders to lift the Asia Cup title. He also added Pakistan team doesn’t have it in them to compete with the Men in Blue on a consistent basis. India thrashed Pakistan quite convincingly by nine wickets to confirm their berth for the final of the tournament. It was India’s second victory against Pakistan in just five days. The first win in the group stages was the biggest victory for India in terms of balls remaining.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma smashed sensational centuries as India chased the target of 238 runs with utmost comfort. The duo shared a 210 runs stand to ensure India had a smooth path to the final of the tournament. Meanwhile, Dhawan was dismissed on 114 of 100 deliveries whereas Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 111 off 119 deliveries.

Rohit Sharma has looked in sensational touch in the tournament so far. He scored his third consecutive 50+ score while Dhawan smashed his second century of the tournament. Dhawan has scored 327 runs in the tournament so far in just four matches. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s fielding was poor yet again as they dropped a sitter of Rohit Sharma when the score was less than 50 runs.

There is a big difference between India and Pakistan says, Harbhajan Singh

“There’s a big difference between these two teams. This Pakistani team doesn’t have it in them to compete with the Indian team. They were only playing the game but not to win. India is the No.1 contender to win the Asia Cup. India remains the favourite.

“Rohit is a class apart. Shikhar is a very talented batsman. The kind of bowling attack we have it’s tough to compete against us. India has the experience…MS Dhoni, Rohit, Dhawan, Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar and even Ambati Rayudu. In Pakistan, barring Shoaib Malik there’s no other player who has this kind of exposure. That is the difference between the two teams,” Harbhajan Singh was quoted as saying by India Today.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan also heaped praises on Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and lauded him for leading from the front in the tournament so far.

“Rohit has been scoring runs and leading the team from the front. He is showing the way. He has done a great job. We can say apart from Virat Kohli, Rohit is also a top contender to lead the team,” Harbhajan said.
