Asia Cup 2018: Star India Introduce Nine Screens; Live Streaming on Hotstar

The highly anticipated Asia Cup 2018 is all set to make its way on September 15 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the latest development, the official broadcasters, Star India is set to telecast the tourney in as many as nine channels with live streaming on Hotstar.

India will enter the tourney as the defending champions who thumped Bangladesh in a rain-curtailed finale in 2016. However, this time, the event is going to happen with six teams taking part in it.

Nine channels to broadcast on Television:

The six teams taking part in the tournament has further been divided into three groups. India, Pakistan and the winner of qualifiers are in Group A.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been slotted in Group B. Two teams from each group will qualify for the Super four stage.

Star Sports will broadcast all the 13 one-day internationals live on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports 1 Hindi HD, Star Sports Select, Star Sports Select HD, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 2 HD and Star Sports Tamil respectively.

The Star Sports-owned OTT platform Hotstar will also stream live as well. The matches will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

All the teams are scheduled to play each other once. The team with maximum points will make their way to Super four where they would fight tooth and nail for a place in the final.

Also, the most-anticipated game between India and Pakistan is set to be played on September 18th. All the matches will be live on Star Sports.

The official media plan will be out by Star India on Monday (August 13th). Earlier, Star India bagged the rights of Indian Premier League (IPL) and delivered the entertainment efficiently.

With Star India set to dedicate nine screens for the home-bound fans for the Asia Cup 2018, Hotstar would make it further interesting over the web.

In addition, the six-nation event will be played over the span of 13 days. The final is scheduled to face off on September 28th between the two teams who tick all the boxes to emerge as one of the Asian giants.
