Once again India would rely their hopes on the trusted duo Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. The left-right combo has done exceptionally well in the limited-overs cricket, and once again, selectors might go with him.

Rohit had a topsy-turvy tour to England while Dhawan failed to convert his starts. However, with the Asian conditions on offer, the duo will hold the key to India’s success.

Middle-Order – Kedar Jadhav might get a nod:

The significant worrying sign for the selectors will be the middle-order line-up. With the players often failing to grab the middle-order spot, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) might opt the newbies in the squad. The recovered-Kedar Jadhav might push for a place in the side as well.

The stylish southpaw, Suresh Raina who failed to grab the opportunity in England tour might lose his place. Meanwhile, the Karnataka-bound batsman, KL Rahul will also be the primary player to consider.

Coming to wicketkeepers’ slot, the former skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be the sure starter while Dinesh Karthik might get one more chance. On the other side of the coin, Rishabh Pant is waiting at the door as well.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah might get back:

The bowling department will claim the major boost as their key players will be back on track. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will make a way into the side while Jasprit Bumrah is also available for the Twety20 format.

Other than them, the likes of Umesh Yadav and one among Siddarth Kaul, Shardul Thakur or Deepak Chahar might get into the squad as well.

Hardik Pandya will complete the all-rounder department. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are the certain starters as well. The upcoming edition will kick off in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 15.
